Projects in DesignerLink 2.0 are essential to the organization of your firm. A project does not even have to be reserved for a single client you have. You could have 2 separate projects for the same client, or use the capabilities to create a showroom, or an inventory project as well.
In this Short Video and Best Practices, we are going to show you how to create a Project in Designer Link 2.0. The bottom of this page also includes Related Articles and Frequently Asked Questions.

BE THOROUGH
The more emphasis you put inputting all information, the more time you will save later when going through the ordering process.
CREATING PROJECTS IN QBO
If you create a project in QBO, please do not also create one in DesignerLink, and vice versa. Your projects will sync with the other software, so there is no need to make duplicate objects.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If I change the name of my project at a later date, will it affect any bookkeeping or data?
No the project name is only used for appearance on the vendor/client facing documents. So feel free to change the name of your project as you wish.
Why can't I use a dash in my project name?
We use QuickBooks compatibility characters, meaning some text cannot be included. For the full list of valid characters you can use please see here.
Can I change a tax rate for a single item in my project?
No, project tax rates are universal, and typical for most tax laws. Set your tax rates when editing your project to have them applied to all future items appropriately.
And that is how you can create a Project. For further information please make sure to reach out to our help desk via the chat icon in the bottom right corner of your Designer Link 2.0 browser, or you can always email us directly at [email protected].
