Quickbooks Online (QBO) Integration

DesignerLink is proud to announce its improved integration with Quickbooks Online (QBO), the leading accounting software for all businesses.

Updated over 2 years ago

Overview

Quickbooks Online is synced to DesignerLink, typically at the setup of the DesignerLink account. During the sync, DL pulls in the clients and vendors from QBO so that you can create projects that are associated with the clients and then proposals and purchase orders that are synced to the correct client in QBO.

Additionally, during the initial QBO sync with DesignerLink, the DesignerLink 'Product', 'Shipping' and 'Other Costs' are mapped to a 'product/service' from QBO which is tied to the chart of accounts.

For the proposals and purchase orders being shared to QBO, that happens by syncing the documents from within the DesignerLink project. You can select the proposal(s) and purchase order(s) that need to be synced through the 'other' menu within a project. When syncing one of these documents, your account is setup to sync the proposal to an invoice and purchase order to a bill. When doing so, the product, shipping and other costs for each line item will show on the invoice/bill, and are mapped to the product/service that was setup in the original DL-QBO sync.

Those documents can be re-synced if updates are made, which will overwrite the existing invoice/bill in QBO. We have the ability to change the sync for your account so that the proposal is synced to an estimate in QBO and the purchase order is synced to the purchase order in QBO, however, that would require you to manually convert the estimate/PO in QBO to a invoice/bill to then apply payments against those documents.
