Stripe Connect Integration

Informing users how to add and use their Stripe Payment Processor to their DesignerLink Account.

Accepting payments can come in a variety of ways for a designer. They may collect checks, receive credit card payments, wire transfers, and/or ACH. With DesignerLink's Stripe Integration, you can move money globally and collect payments direct from your clients via payment links and our Client Portal.

VIDEO TUTORIAL:

ADDING STRIPE TO YOUR DESIGNERLINK ACCOUNT:

  1. Log in to your DesignerLink account.

  2. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen and select "Stripe Connect" from the left menu.

  3. Under the "Stripe Connect" tab, click on the "Connect" button.

  4. A pop-up window will appear, prompting you to log in to your Stripe account or create a new one if you don't have one already.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your Stripe account or create a new one.

  6. Once you've logged in to your Stripe account, you will be redirected back to the DesignerLink platform.

  7. You will see a message confirming that your Stripe account has been successfully connected to DesignerLink.

That's it! Your Stripe account is now connected to the DesignerLink system, and you can start accepting payments from your clients. If you encounter any issues during the process, feel free to reach out to the DesignerLink support team for assistance.

ACH:
When your customer chooses to pay an invoice with their bank account, they can either link their bank credentials or manually enter their bank account information. Upon manually entering their bank details, they will be informed that they need to verify their bank details with micro deposits. Once payment flow is complete they will see a confirmation screen stating their payment was submitted.

Credit Card:
When a customer chooses to pay an invoice with their credit card, and completes the payment flow, they will see a confirmation screen stating their payment was successfully submitted.

You can ask your Support Team to assist if you would like to only process ACH or only process Credit Card payments. Or if you would like to accept both forms of Payment.

  1. What is the pricing of Stripe?

  2. Can we pass along the processing fee to our client?

    1. You can pass your Stripe fees on to your customers by including the fee into the final charge amount. It is important to ensure that this action complies with any applicable laws that pertain to your business. If you are unsure whether such laws apply, consult with your legal counsel.

      In some jurisdictions, charging processing fees to your customers is prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to act in accordance with applicable law.

  3. Can I send one payment link for multiple proposals/estimates or invoices?

    1. Yes! When you send multiple proposals or invoices via the email to client feature in DesignerLink, it will automatically sum up the collection of the document totals and there will be one link for the client to pay.

  4. My clients ACH payment takes a long time to process - did it go through?

    1. Yes. ACH (bank) payments take longer to confirm than credit card payments. After your client submits their payment, the system may show a spinning wheel or “processing” status while the bank completes verification. This delay is normal and does not mean the payment failed. Once the bank confirms the transaction, the payment status will automatically update.
